Nokia: Camera Cell Phone Campaign

Campaign Objective:
To help educate consumers about Nokia’s new Camera Cell Phones, by providing them with an interactive environment in which the consumer could see the camera phone in use.

Program Details:
Consumers were approached at Yonge & Dundas (Dundas Square) in Toronto during daytime and asked if they would like to appear in a Nokia ad. Those that agreed were photographed by Nokia promo staff, using the Nokia camera phone. The photo was then e-mailed to the OBN server, where it was vetted for approval, posted to an FTP site, which OBN’s server then retrieved. The picked up image was flattened onto a Nokia template ad and posted to the Video Board. All within just a few minutes.

Campaign Timing:
November –December 2004

Media Purchased:

LED Video (3 OBN locations, plus 3 other Video Board locations) – 10 second spot

Creative Executions:
Two template ads

Summary
:
An outstanding example of leveraging the photographic capabilities of the Nokia phone and demonstrating those capabilities by engaging the audience in the ad itself.
